Control the Moisture in Your Hive Keep honey bees comfortable year-round with this notched inner cover. Place it on top of your hive, just below the telescoping cover, to help provide the necessary ventilation, insulation and proper working space for bees. 2-3/4" center hole allows fresh air to circulate and helps control moisture to prevent condensation buildup (less moisture in your hive means less moisture in the nectar!). Plus, it serves as an easy access point for smoking bees when you're working in your hive. The inner cover also controls the working space, so bees don't fill the space with comb between the top super and telescoping cover (it's less messy and preserves your bees' energy!). We recommend placing the cover so that the notch is facing the front of hive for an additional bee entrance, in case the bottom entrance becomes blocked with snow. Use year-round.
